MDI, was recently recognized for its ‘Social Enterprise’ work that provides meaningful job opportunities for people with disabilities as part of the 2018 Minnesota Business Community Impact Awards. A special event was held on February 22, to honor businesses, organizations, initiatives and individuals making a significant impact on communities in Minnesota.

we have 328 hardworking team members who help deliver high quality products and services to businesses and organizations in Minnesota and across the country.”
Through a Social Ente
rprise model, MDI creates self-sufficiency by providing meaningful work in an inclusive environment, with nearly half of the workforce comprised of people with disabilities. MDI, along with Express Bike Shop and Sunrise Banks were recognized as finalists in the “Social Enterprise” category. Other social-good organizations honored at the event included: MRCI, Walser Auto Group, Bell Bank, Minnesota Historical Society, Be The Match, Stinson Leonard Street, Antenna and many other great companies.

MDI recently opened a new 36,000
square-foot facility in Hibbing, MN, to improve the working conditions for employees, while providing opportunities for growth. In addition, MDI is also expanding the support services provided to people with disabilities. In 2017, MDI launched an innovativ
e training program, Work Skills 101, providing soft skill development for job growth and advancement.
