19 MDI employees volunteered at the Area 11 Special Olympics Golf competition in Blaine, MN on June 11. The event had record participation with approximately 100 attendees, mostly from the southern Twin Cities – Waconia, Edina, Eden Prarie, etc.
Volunteers also had the opportunity to root on fellow MDI employee, Mike, Marv and his son, Jay. With a score of 42, Mike took home 1st place in the traditional nine hole event. The duo team, Marv and Jay, took home 1st in the unified nine hole with a score of 46.
Special Olympics empowers people with disabilities through athletics and leadership to help transform their lives. Participants prepare months in advance for this annual event.
