MDI Minneapolis team members embraced the chill for a cause at this year’s Special Olympics Minnesota Polar Plunge, held at Lake Nokomis. Despite the thermometer reading 60°F, the water remained a brisk 37°F, adding to the thrill and excitement of the event. Over 5,000 people gathered for the annual Polar Plunge, plunging into the chilly waters to raise funds and support for Special Olympics Minnesota. More than just braving the cold, the Polar Plunge is about making a big splash for a good cause. Participants dove in to show their support for the Special Olympics community, contributing to vital funds for programming and events benefiting over 8,000 athletes statewide. MDI Minneapolis team members were at the forefront, raising $4,425 in support of creating more opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Beyond the plunge itself, participants enjoyed live music, delicious food trucks, exclusive Plunge merch, and a host of activities lakeside at Lake Nokomis. Together, MDI and the Special Olympics community created a splash with a Polar Plunge experience like no other, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to inclusion and support for a worthy cause (more images can be found on our MDI Facebook page)!
